88 parliament street, 1 Arab Bank Bldg. 2011-1703, BeirutFounded in 1991 by Paul Guriagossian and his family, this gallery brings together the work of this son of Armenian genocide survivors, who came to be one of Lebanon’s most celebrated artists. This is the main reason to head to the museum, but it also host exhibitions other contemporary artists at times.
Centre Le Baron, Amaret Chalhoub Str, ZalkaThis chic Saifi art gallery has regularly rotating solo exhibitions that give a platform to local Lebanese artists, especially painters. It’s less cutting edge than some of the Quarantina and Hamra spaces, but a good place to see some established artists that receive little hype.
1064 A Bldg, Ariss Kanafani Str, Quartier des Arts, Saifi Village.Run by Motaz Kabbani, a prominent Syrian art collector, this gallery aims to cross geographical boundaries by bringing in an eclectic range of pieces from across the globe, unusually for Beirut. Kabbani refuses to be constrained by choice of media either; works range through the whole gamut from photography to sculpture.
Ground Floor, Beirut Tower, Zeitoune Str, across from Beirut Marina, Solidere.This modern gallery in the charming Saifi Village has a fantastic permanent exhibition, featuring the artwork of several Lebanese and international artists. In addition tot this work, there are also eight exhibitions a year of different contemporary art, focusing primarily on photography and painting.

4th Floor rooftop, Pepite building, Mar Louis, AchrafiehExhibits fortnightly shows of young aspiring artists as well as established ones and also has a permanent collection.
Sraj bldg, Leonardi Da Vinci StrAnother top pick, if you only have time to catch one or two shows. One of Beirut’s hard-hitters, Sfeir-Semler is partnered with a twin gallery in Hamburg. Sfeir curates thoughtful, themed exhibitions by international and Middle Eastern artists in exhibitions that last between 2-3 months. A place to catch some of the region’s art stars in the ascendant.
4th floor, Tannous Bldg, Str. 56, QuarantinaOwner Michel El-Daher travels around the world, especially in Latin America to gather artworks displayed in this gallery. Featuring mainly Brazilian, Chilean, Venezuelan and Cuban artists as well as those with Lebanese origins, this gallery offers a new dimension to the art scene in Beirut. Cool Brazilian decorative art is also available.
2nd floor, Renno bldg (above Kahwit al Kuzaz), Gouraud StrThe permanent collection of paintings and furniture on display in this mod gallery are primarily the works of gallery owner, and ALBA (Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts) alumnus, Sandra Kheir Sahyoun.
2nd floor, behind Berad Al Younani, Arabian bldg, Bouchrieh Industrial CityPromotes various art forms by local artists of painting, photography and sculptures.
facing Lebanese Canadian BankA group of professional art teachers and professors from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) providing private lessons for adults. Courses available include drawing and/or painting with pencil, pastels, charcoal, watercolor, charcoal, acrylic, and oil. Courses are modified according to individual interests and students can opt for indoor and/or outdoor sessions, and instruction in still life, drawing/painting of humans or landscapes, or copying art masters. Single sessions and intensive monthly courses available.
The dedicated folks behind this cool little white cube put on a solo or collective exhibition each month in an effort to promote and introduce emerging Lebanese and regional artists. It has hosted some excellent photography shows over the past year.

1st floor, Renno bldg (above Kahwet el Kozaz), Gouraud StrOne of the coolest things about this sleek Hamra art gallery, which first opened in 1990, is the back room cluttered with reproductions of old postcards from around the Middle East, as well as historical letters and other relics – well worth a rummage. Today, the gallery has expanded to display the artwork of young and/or newly discovered Arab artists. Two exhibitions are held each month featuring contemporary, and occasionally older, Middle Eastern and European paintings.
