Fashion, philosophy, fantasy and more; five new exhibitions in Beirut allow the viewer to explore a wide range of topics.
Dieci
Artist and social activist Kiki Bokassa uses oil paint and
graffiti spray cans on old fabric motifs, bought from the souks of
Tripoli, to create an alliance between traditional motifs and modern
expressionism.

Within the Dollhouse: The Jumble of Fantasy and Tragedy
Lebanese artist Rima Chahrour presents her work in an exhibition this
month at Art Lounge. Charhour’s is a collection of realities,
encouraging the viewer to reflect upon 'the fantasies created as means
of denying man’s tragic and fixed end'.

Image in the Aftermath
The image is the focal point of this exhibition
by several international artists, interrogating its production, use and
dissemination. Each of the works reflects on the power of the image
during historical events such as Hiroshima, the Lebanese wars and more.

STARCH your summer
'STARCH your summer' is part of the Beirut Art Exhibition Centre’s (BAC)
series BAC design. The exhibition is a collection of products with the
STARCH brand codes, designed by STARCH designers over the years. Fashion
clothing, accessories and interior products carrying the signature
style of each designer will be on display.

Le Pendule
Bassam Geitani’s exhibition displays the artist’s fascination
with philosophy, the sciences and the ‘cosmic conscience’. His
technique fascinates, as he uses a pendulum to trace spirals on
canvases.
