Watch an intriguing play that investigates Marilyn Monroe's suicide. Sit on the edge of your seat as the actors question if she was actually murdered and if the murder took place in the heart of Lebanon. Shows are in English, French and Arabic, and last for 50 minutes each.

I thought the play was extremely funny and full of energy and surprises. The actresses never gave us one dull moment. Their body language was amazing. They filled the stage like there were 20 people on stage (something not easy to do at all) and captured the attention of the audience fully. I laughed whole heartedly and found myself anxiously waiting for the next scene. I do NOT think the point was really to present Marylin's life story. It's the mystery that surrounds her death that allows one to think of all possibilities even to the extent of playing and fooling around with the possibilities. I enjoyed how in a subtle way, I don't know if it was meant to do that, it reflects how Lebanese always believe they are the center of the universe, hence, Marylin was killed in Lebanon. A fantastic presentation of our mentality which the script writer and the actresses managed to convey with lots of originality. The acting was passionate and the harmony between the two actresses was very impressive. Contrary to what D thinks, and I have seen many plays in my life, and am sick to death with the exaggerated symbolism in most Lebanese plays and movies, this play is very original and is far from the dramatic norm. I also think it was very challenging yet it managed to succeed and win the challenge par excellence.
Saw the play as well, liked it a lot, very creative and different from other plays we can see in town. Strong personality of the actresses and fun out of what makes our Beirut. Mister Moaners isn’t it a bit psycho-rigid to wish the play to be the exact life & death of Norma? We are into entertainment and why not letting ourselves go for a good laugh… for a change
I saw it yesterday too, but I found it surprisingly witty and funny and it seems the crowd thought so too, judging by the frequent laughs and repeated long applauses. However I understand mr grouchy's comment above, there always must be someone to criticize and take down other people's work, or else we wouldn't be in Lebanon ;)
I went to see this play yesterday (thursday december 8) and was shocked by it's mediocrity!!! I mean the script is very very basic - there is so little research about the life of marilyn and all other elements of the play- the monologues are long and BORING; they are neither funny (which they try to be) nor interesting! plain boring the basic message - which i had to read an interview with the actresses to understand- barely shows in the entire work and ofcourse - the shouting, unexplained and out-of-context bursts of hysterical laughter, and misplaced exxageration of the actresses in almost all the scenes! this is not a professional work- it is a high school students end of year show yet another disappointing lebanese play...
