-Chafic Ghazale will be departing from Cyprus on Fri 4th June at 2pm and to arrive at La Marina Dbayeh on Sun 6th June at 6pm.
Chafic Ghazale, the Lebanese athlete, will be rowing from Cyprus To
Lebanon fulfilling his dream of becoming the first Rower in the Middle
East and the Levant area to enter the “Rowers Almanac “ reference book
for rowers world wide. He will be heading from Cape Greco at the headland of the southeastern part of Cyprus to La
Marina Dbayeh, Lebanon.
Chafic was born in 1978 in Zgharta. He took part in the Lebanese Rowing Championships in 2002 as well as 2003 and received the bronze medal in the Spring 2003 Championships.
Against all odds Chafic will be rowing this hard sea trip using a special boat called “yole” concurring all obstacles that he may confront him on his way. Chafic will be the 1st rower worldwide passing such distance in the YOLE category he has chosen. His big challenge is to reach Lebanon safe and on the expected time.
