Supporting Chafic Ghazale

Live Update:
-Chafic Ghazale will be departing from Cyprus on Fri 4th June at 2pm and to arrive at La Marina Dbayeh on Sun 6th June at 6pm.

Chafic Ghazale, the Lebanese athlete, will be rowing from Cyprus To Lebanon fulfilling his dream of becoming the first Rower in the Middle East and the Levant area to enter the “Rowers Almanac “ reference book for rowers world wide. He will be heading from Cape Greco at the headland of the southeastern part of Cyprus to La Marina Dbayeh, Lebanon.

Chafic was born in 1978 in Zgharta. He took part in the Lebanese Rowing Championships in 2002 as well as 2003 and received the bronze medal in the Spring 2003 Championships.

Against all odds Chafic will be rowing this hard sea trip using a special boat called “yole” concurring  all obstacles that he may confront him on his way. Chafic will be the 1st rower worldwide passing such distance in the YOLE category he has chosen. His big challenge is to reach Lebanon safe and on the expected time.

Hello, Have a great row. I wished I would be able to row with you. 150 miles is far nicer than rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. We wish you good luck from here in California. Xeno Olympic gold and silver men's single scull, Olympic record holder.
