On the eve of Apr 4, the Lebanese web series Shankaboot and its fans had reason to celebrate. The web series beat three other nominees from the UK, Netherlands and Brazil in the Fiction Category for the Digital Emmy Award. It is the first time that a Lebanese series has brought home an award of this kind. Over three hundred attended the prestigious ceremonies held in New York.

Shankaboot is currently in its fourth season airing only online. Each episode lasts less than ten minutes, bringing to the fore current social issues.
