Weekend fun in the sun

Believe it or not, the rain is finally taking a break and just in time for another wild weekend in our fair city. Take a peek at what Beirut has in store for this weekend with our certified weekend roundup.

Talkin’ bout a revolution
Reflect on the revolutions of the past at the Beirut Arts Center this weekend with their exhibition, Revolution vs. Revolution in which they promote a re-examining of the socio-political movements of the past and present.

A thousand words
Mohannad Khatib, the Lebanese television anchor, has compiled some of his most striking photos taken throughout his journeys as a journalist and is presenting them in the collection entitled Samak, Laban, Tamerhindi. All proceeds go towards supporting SANAD.

Ladies First
Head over to Pasteur this Friday for another ladies night. As per usual, no guys are getting in before midnight and DJ Ladybug and Boubybe will be rocking the evening all night long.

February concert series
Don’t miss this musical event. Three magnificent performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday that will include live jazz, oriental music as well as western classical styles.

Lose your mind
The underrated crew are at it again. DJs Jinane, Cyril, Nicolas and guests Maragel and Alouf will be spinning the best of electro, indie electro and dubstep for an insane Saturday night.

Studio 54
Take a time machine back to the golden years when Studio 54 was the hottest club around. We Run Beirut presents an evening right out of the late '70s.

A hair of the dog
Best way to beat a hangover? How about a wine tour? Take a viticultural voyage through Domaine des Tourelles, Clos St. Thomas and Kefraya this Saturday and discover the rich history of Lebanon’s vineyards.

Julia Live
Renowned Lebanese singer, Julia, is giving one exclusive performance this Saturday night. Singing since the age of 17, she is no stranger to the music scene in Lebanon.

Nature beckons
Trek Liban is offering two levels of hikes this weekend into the wilderness of the Awali river. With the rain finally subsiding, take advantage of the sunny skies and discover the majesty of Lebanon’s nature.

Skidoo the slopes
No rain means no snow and what better way to celebrate than a full-on skidoo adventure. Head to Warde for an hour and a half to tour across the mountain tops.
