The city-size contest that begun in April to nominate Beirut's best music bars has reached its end; Beirut's bars can breathe a sigh of relief as the battle is over and winners have been announced. The Society for the Author, Composer and Publisher of Music (SACEM) has announced the winners in the following categories:


Best Music Bar in Gemmayzeh: Life Bar
Best Pop Rock Music Bar: Weebee's
Best Lounge Bar: Gem
Best Arabic Music Bar: Bardo
Best Electronic Club: BO18
Best Latin Music Bar: El Gardel

On May 13, Gem hosted the prestigious award ceremony where VIPs gave away prizes designed exclusively by Deborah Phares. Three members of SACEM France's Direction Board were present for the first time in Lebanon, the Syndicate of Beirut Bars, the Spanish Embassy, Time Out Beirut and MTV executives.
