MyBar

If you’ve been to Oku, Zuma or Nobu in Dubai, you’ll have a bit of an idea of what to expect from the new MyBar. First thought up by the owners of Juniper, this entirely unique and innovative business concept has attracted international media attention. Investors apply for percentage ownership, and accordingly collaborate to vote on almost every detail of the MyBar model. All the investors are bona fide Lebanese who live and know Beirut’s nightlife and are therefore fully aware of how to cater to nocturnal Beirut’s needs. Described as ‘more of a lounge, less of a nightclub and more mingling, less dancing,’ the investors collectively voted on the very posh, very high-end night lounge, which also happens to be Beirut’s first.

The lounge is due to open soon and is conveniently located at 134 Park Avenue, just on top of Plum, reflecting its super trendy ambience.

The ambiance and decor is great, no doubt about it. Service was quite horrible, the waiters were rude, and didn't know their menu at all. Our main dish came 45 minutes late, when people who came before us got their mains and left, and we weren't offered any small token or gesture of an apology. Even worse than the service, which really shocked me since their prices are really high, was the food. It was horrible, I’m not even going into details. I’d go for a drink and enjoy the mood, but definitely not to eat.
