An exciting programme by the ever-resourceful people at Metropolis – this 7-film selection was TBC at the time of going to print, but tantalizing confirmations include the opening film ‘Bal’ (Honey) by Semih Kaplanoglu, Golden Bear winner at the 2010 Berlin Film Festival, and two films by acclaimed filmmaker Nuri Bilge Ceylan – ‘Uzak’ (Distant), which won 17 awards including the Grand Prix and Best Male Actor Cannes in 2003, and ‘Üç Maymun’ (Three Monkeys) which gained him Best Director Award at Cannes 2008.
