As the local authority on arts and entertainment, Time Out Beirut provides a fresh take on what's happening in Lebanon. Our staff is made up of young, active writers who are unofficial experts in their respective fields (nightlife, shopping, dining, music, etc.). Because we're growing quickly, we're building a team of talented, responsible people with the inside scoop on Beirut culture. Junior Designer



Job type:
Full-time, paid

Job description:
The Junior Designer is a team player, and must work well in a group and independently. She/he should also be able to meet short deadlines, while maintaining flexibility in his or her work.

Key responsibilities:
  • Pre-layout for each issue
  • Edit photos for print

Qualifications:
Candidates must be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. For this position, a portfolio is required along with a CV. When applying for this position, include the subject line ‘Junior Designer'.

Researcher



Job type:
Full-time, paid

Job description:
The Researcher works closely with the Listings Editor to produce content for the editorial team. Attention to detail, ability to multitask and an interest in Beirut culture are essential for this position.

Key responsibilities:
  • Fact check information about events and openings
  • Research upcoming events and openings
  • Conduct field research to ensure the TOB database is up to date

Qualifications:

Internships



Job type:
Part-time to full-time, stipend

Job description:
There are three internships available at Time Out Beirut: Editorial, Digital and Online. The intern should be motivated, dedicated, and interested in pursuing a career in publishing. While the positions are heavy on research and administrative work, interns will potentially take on writing/photo/design assignments.

Qualifications:
Fluency in English is essential, French and Arabic desirable, and a writing sample is required. Digital Interns must be proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Bridge.
