    • The Union for the Protection of Juveniles in Lebanon was founded on the January 12, 1936 by Mrs Salwa Clajihabr. It has six offices in the Palaces of Justice of the six governorates, and a reformatory for juveniles. In each office, there are social workers that evaluate, review, and study the files of juveniles that may be exposed to violence or that are attending court cases for violations of law. The organisation's aim is to protect juveniles from all forms of abuse, whether in the home, school, or society, and to ascertain the role of society toward the child, whether it be the social worker, the parent, the police, or the judicial system.
