The American University of Beirut’s Archaeological Museum confirms its place in the parental good books with another fun-filled program for kids. Their first effort this year aims to explore the role of clay pottery in history and archaeology. Kids aged 7-12 will take a tour of the museum and observe their excavated pottery samples as well as learn about the history and role of these muddy pieces of art in our Lebanese heritage. With professional demonstrations as well as historical background of modern and ancient techniques for making pottery, the pinnacle of the session is when the kids are given the opportunity to make their own pieces of art. With the knowledge behind them to share with friends and parents, as well as an actual souvenir of their day of exploration, nothing can beat this trip into history.
