Where? Nahr Street, Mar Mikhael. What’s it like? Formerly Electro Mechanique, an underground, grungy industrial style garage. The joint, now EM Chill, was revamped to cater to lovers of live acoustic music as opposed to deep electronica. The Drinks? They have a very interesting Greek beer. Though we love it – nothing tops an ice cold Almaza. Entertainment? There are live performances of a variety of genres throughout the month, whether it’s a rock band tearing up guitars or Armenian experimental music. The sound system could be a little better to be honest, but it won’t turn you off. The mediocre sound is compensated by the brilliant performances - almost always turning into an installation art piece. Who are the regulars? Birds of a feather flock together – the space gets packed with fans of all ages following they’re favourite bands or their personal genre of interest. Music lovers will be proud to know that this place is 100 per cent small town girl free (see our Dec-Jan issue), so there’s no incessant jabbering or camera flashes interrupting your auditory pleasure.
