With little existing support for local musicians, Lebanese Underground in collaboration with Red Bull is offering a prime opportunity for regional musicians, singers, DJs and producers to participate in a series of music workshops from Mar 25 to Mar 27.
The RBMA Bass Camp was inspired by the Red Bull Music Academy, a series
of music workshops, held in different international locations that
promote and support the talents of the future. They include a series of
lectures by international artists, old and new, along with late night
recording sessions and the opportunity to perform in the city’s best
venues. 2011’s Music Academy will be held in Tokyo, so if you fancy your
chances as one of the lucky 60, applications must be in by Apr 4.
The opening of the workshop kicks off with a live performance by Trevor Beresford Romeo a.k.a Jazzie B, founding member of the musical group Soul II Soul joined by local DJ Ernesto at BO18.
Keep an eye out for our weekend special: Natalie Shooter gives you a low-down on the RBMA Bass Camp tomorrow and Sun night, appearing only on Time Out Beirut online.
