T Marbouta will be hosting an exhibition of the works of Hassan Al Hourani, the late talented Palestinian artist. . Hourani studied Fine Arts in Baghdad, then became an art instructor at the Women's Society College in Ramallah and worked as an exhibition coordinator and researcher at the Wasiti Art Center in Jerusalem. He moved to New York in 2001, where he studied at the Art Student's League. His installations were among the few that explored issues of memory, place and time. He drew and painted with mediums from his environment like soil, wood, and sand. His work has been previously exhibited in several Arab countries, South Korea, and the United States. In 2003, Al Hourani was working on a children's book, which was published after his death, in 2004. This book was selected as one of the Best Ten Arabic Illustrated Children's Book. The Hassan Al Hourani Young Artist of the Year Award was established in his memory.
