Always vibrant and full of plans, the Lebanese American University is no different when it comes to its summer of stage. The college is giving over its campus once again to its annual International University Theatre Festival – more than just a selection of plays and concerts, the week is a chance for communication and performing arts students to share their ideas and experiences in a creative and professional forum; not just viewing theatre, but encouraging the vision of its future practitioners.

Nonetheless, there will be a selection of plays and concerts, as well as workshops, presentations and talks from local and international professionals – but the main delight will be the meeting of minds of around 200 performing arts students and their instructors, from all different styles and schools of theatre. University productions this year hail from Belgium, The Netherlands, Turkey, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Kuwait and Syria – and, of course, Lebanon.
