New Indo-Lanka

This no-frills restaurant is located above what looks like a typical Sri Lankan grocery store. There's no menu, so sit back and enjoy what you're offered: golden roti, curried lentils, the tearinducing tomato mix chock full of chillis, and refreshing coconut, all served with buttery chapati bread. The Sri Lankan waiters that smile down from flyers on the restaurant’s walls imply that plastic tables, fluorescent lighting and questionable health standards should not be dwelled upon. Alas, there’s no dessert to follow this heavy snack, but a plastic-wrapped sleeve of sugary Lemon Puff Biscuits from the ground-floor shop makes for an appropriate finish.
