    • Scoozi

    • If you’re craving a sushi fix without paying the equivalent of an airfare to Tokyo, then try Scoozi. Scoozi is no fusion restaurant, but it has found a way to serve both Japanese food on a conveyor – as well as Italian cuisine. The open sushi deal includes hot appetisers and a dessert all at $33 per head. But if you want to make sure you get the best out of the deal, you should steer clear of picking dishes off the conveyor. Instead get acquainted with the humble sushi chefs and have them customise rolls to your liking.

    • Sea Sweet

    • Offers a large selection of oriental sweets like nammoura, sfouf, peanuts borma, katayef, knafeh and baluriya as well as Arabic ice cream, almond paste cake, swiss rolls and other cakes, sable and chocolates. It’s your safest bet for an early morning sweet fixation.

    • Secteur 75

    • Set in an old traditional house with graffiti décor, chandeliers, paint scrubbing off the walls and mismatching furniture, this resto-bar offers an exquisite Mediterranean cuisine, and a contemporary mix for brunch. If you're not in the mood to dine, stimulate your senses at their very artsy bar area!

    • Seza

    • This exquisite family joint is a welcome addition to Beirut’s well-known and loved range of Armenian restaurants, tucked away between bougainvillea-strewn architectural survivors on a corner of up-and-coming area Mar Mikhael. The white duck and duck-egg blue interior is clean and welcoming. A clear, wide-ranging menu incorporating all the Armenian classics you’d expect. An exciting selection of salads and mains including Armenian tabbouleh and a mortadella and muhammara (fragrantly garlicky cold sausage studded with pistachio, with spicy walnut and pomegranate syrup dip). Very much the Bistro experience, not a place for an extravagant feast. Also, the prices are shading into the range designed to keep out the riff-raff.

      Patriarch Aarida Str
    • Shawarma Republic

    • This upscale shack has everyone talking about its catchy campaign and original concept. However, considering that the only item on the menu is shawarma, one would expect a more impressive meal for their unreasonable prices. Nevertheless, credit must be given for their high quality ingredients, as they are of the very few restaurants in Beirut to serve lamb meat brought in daily.

      Petro Trad Str, Sodeco
    • Shogun

    • Top quality sushi and Japanese food on display with occasional additions of seasonal fish and seafood you’d only find out about if you happened to be a regular. Sample some of their cold sakes.

Boasting over 50 bottles of wine, Soixante-Huit’s Magret de Canard and Feuillette De Champignon will keep you coming back. Be sure to stay for the vibe as the music shifts from slow jazz early in the evening to soul and funk, and eventually electropop as the night gets underway.

    • A bar with a real American feel to it. Burgers are definitely the house speciality but the rest of the pub-grub is well up to scratch. A good place to sit and people watch; music is a mixture of oldies and soft rock.
