A new earth Feeling super ecological? This shop is full-on organic. From designer tea boxes by Lolita Lempicka to the wide collection of organic gardening products, a New Earth is as suitable for gift shopping as it is for helping you do your part for the planet. OSLOW Derived from The Slow Food Movement and a separate entity from OSLO ice cream, OSLOW shares a counter with the treats at Californian-style concept Gruen Eatery. The products are well-selected, individually packaged and sold for a low premium to encourage producers who still grow and cultivate the old way. Gruen Eatery, Gefinor Centre, Clemenceau. Al Marej Ever since its opening, this organic food store has given the fussy Achrafieh women’s circle something to keep them busy and healthy. Whoever the customer, Al Marej is keen on educating people on how to be good to flora and your body. Abdel Wahab el Inglizi Str. (01 210211)

Fair Trade Lebanon This organisation has been making a significant attempt towards encouraging the local production of organic produce. Though they don’t have their own shop, you can find their stock at Aziz, Carpaccio, O&C, Saint Rita’s House and very soon in Caliprix. Souk el Tayeb Regardless of whether everything you find here is organic or not, you cannot deny that Souk el Tayeb had a hand in kicking off the organic food movement in Lebanon. You’ll just have to investigate to know which of the stands are certified organic and legit. Souk el Tayeb every Sat 8am-2pm, Saifi Village parking and every Wed 3pm-10pm, ABC Achrafieh parking L3.

The Earth Market A smaller version of Souk el Tayeb, The Earth Market hosts a few farmers and producers in front of Bread Republic, located in the alleyway by Radio Shack on Hamra Street. The Earth Market every Tuesday 8am-2pm.

Bio Box Want to take your effort towards helping the planet to a whole new level? How about saving energy and shopping online instead at www.bioboxlb.com. From flour, pasta, baked goods and tofu, to eggs, pickles and vegetables, you’ll find it all on their website.
