George Azzi and Assaad Osta launched their second collection Summer 2010 shortly before the opening of their atelier, which they intend to share with other local designers. Expect an extravagant invite and a winter collection.

How did you come to collaborate?
We went to fashion school together at Esmod Beirut. We have regard for each other’s proficiency and general taste in things and so far we’ve avoided falling out. We both work on everything. Of course each one has his area of expertise.

How do you distinguish yourself from other Elie Saab protégées?
We stress on volume from a distance leaving some intricateness for when you look closer. Not all designers can do couture. We’re focusing more on possibly opening up a prêt-à-porter boutique.

What inspired your last collection?
Colour. We joked about it being like a woman in the process of moving out yet insists on having a vacation.
